Dr Christoph Selig is an entrepreneur and technology expert specialising in developing cutting-edge solutions for the aviation and drone industries. Dr Selig, Unisphere’s Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder, has been instrumental in the company’s development and growth since its inception in January 2018. Unisphere, based in Konstanz, Germany, is a deep-tech start-up that develops technologies to automate drone and air taxi flight operations.
Unisphere’s Digital Co-Pilot solution combines digital twin technologies with pilot expertise to enable automated flight planning, flight monitoring and post-flight analytics, assisting commercial operators worldwide in efficiently and safely scaling their flight operations.
He also co-founded Kilometer1, a start-up initiative aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and supporting early-stage start-ups at Konstanz’s local universities, in addition to his work at Unisphere. Dr Selig worked as the Start-up Manager at Kilometer1 from November 2016 to February 2021, and he was instrumental in strengthening the founding spirit and entrepreneurial culture at the participating universities.
From April 2015 to February 2021, Dr Selig worked as a PhD. Researcher at the IST — Institute for Strategic Innovation and Technology Management. During this time, he conducted over 100 interviews in Germany, Switzerland and the Silicon Valley on Corporate Entrepreneurship as a tool for mastering digital transformation.
From August 2018 to August 2019, Dr Selig worked as a Mentor at the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship Bootcamp at the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology in Berkeley, California. This experience enabled him to share his knowledge with aspiring entrepreneurs.
He also worked at Festo from September 2011 to October 2012 as a Marketing Intern and Final Thesis contributor before focusing on his entrepreneurial and research endeavours. During his time at Festo, he worked on redefining the marketing concepts department’s processes by developing a new tool for the marketing planning process.
