Dan Carroll

Biography

Dan Carroll is an Airworthiness Director at Shield AI, where he leads global airworthiness, certification, and regulatory initiatives supporting the V-BAT unmanned aircraft system and Hivemind mission autonomy software. Since joining Shield AI in 2023, he has worked with military and civil aviation authorities around the world to enable the safe, compliant, and operationally effective deployment of advanced autonomous systems, helping customers transition new capabilities from development into real-world operations.

Dan has more than 20 years of aerospace experience, including over a decade focused on unmanned aircraft systems engineering, airworthiness, certification, and flight operations. Earlier in his career, he spent 10 years supporting helicopter flight test and development programs, building a foundation in aircraft systems, flight test, and airworthiness that continues to inform his work today.
