David Pérez-Dionis Chinea

Biography

David Pérez-Dionis Chinea is the Director-General for Institutional Coordination and Strategic Projects of the Canary Islands Government. The remit of this department includes proposing measures to facilitate the designation, implementation and promotion of strategic projects within the Canary Islands. It is also responsible for fostering actions to address the major, cross-cutting strategic challenges, specifically targeting initiatives that generate a knowledge-based economy and contribute to overall well-being and sustainability.

Within the aerospace sector, officially designated as strategic by the Canary Islands Government, this Directorate-General coordinates the regional Aerospace Strategy. Launched in May 2025, this framework serves as a cornerstone to boost local aerospace capabilities, foster the growth of an innovative and sustainable industry, attract talent, diversify the economy, and cement the archipelago’s position as a leading international benchmark in the sector.
