UAS Manager at Irish Aviation Authority
Biography
Enda is the Drones Champion (UAS Manager) for the Irish Aviation Authority. He has worked in aviation for over a decade as an Airspace Regulator, Procedure Designer & Military Air Traffic Controller. His introduction to aviation came form his love of skydiving. He has over 1,000 jumps under his belt & has previously held the role of head of Military parachuting in Ireland.
He has a passion for drones & their potential for society. His mission is to promote & regulate the industry, & to maximise competitive & socio-economic benefits, while ensuring the highest level of safety, security, & protection for citizens. Outside of work he enjoys flying drones & attempting to build them.
Enda has extensive military leadership experience both at home & overseas, having retired from the Irish Defence Forces as a Captain, where he served in both the Air Corps & Infantry.
Early in his career he worked as a Software Engineer, programming Mainframes. He retains a strong interest in cryptography & A.I.
