Joan Xiberta

Biography

I am Corporal Joan XIBERTA, a Police Officer with the Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia, Spain, since the year 2000.

In terms of my professional background beyond the public service, I hold a title as a Security Director, UAS Pilot and a degree in Image and Photography.

Throughout my law enforcement career, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple areas of the region and across various specializations.

I began my career in the field of public safety, and in subsequent years, I expanded my expertise into related domains within the same professional family, including roles in the Operational Coordination Center, Citizen Assistance Office, and Community Policing.

In recent years, my focus has been in the realm of criminal investigation. Within this professional category, I have undertaken responsibilities related to forensic science, data analysis, and intelligence gathering, with a particular emphasis on combating violent crime.

Regarding my educational background, I served as an instructor at the Institute of Public Safety in Catalonia, which is the training institution for police recruits in Catalonia. Over the course of many years, I taught courses related to the practical application of public safety, both at the Institute of Public Safety and in parallel, I am certified as a shooting range instructor. I have supervised shooting range activities for educational purposes for several years.

Finally, in 2021, I joined the inaugural class of the Mossos d’Esquadra Drone Unit. Up to the present, I lead an operational team that provides support to special units in their operations and participates in security operations for events, large gatherings, and the protection of VIPs.
