Biography

Lola García is a teacher by profession and is President of the Island Council (Cabildo) of Fuerteventura. She holds a diploma in Physical Education and spent a decade in the education sector, working as both a teacher and Headteacher of CEIP García Blairzy.

In 2015, she was elected as a Member of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, and in 2019, she became the first woman to serve as President of the Fuerteventura Island Council.

Since 2023, she has once again been leading the Island Council, championing a development model centered on sustainability, innovation, and improving residents’ quality of life. Under her leadership, the Parque Tecnológico de Fuerteventura has strengthened its position as a strategic hub for innovation, research, digital transformation, and economic diversification.The Parque Tecnológico de Fuerteventura plays a key role in attracting talent, creating highly skilled jobs, and supporting high-value industries that strengthen the island’s economic growth.
