Roberto Gándara
Head of UAS Division at AESA
Biography
Roberto Gándara is an experienced Aeronautical Engineer with over two decades in aviation and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). He began as an Airport Construction Manager, overseeing projects from 2004 to 2015. Transitioning to UAS, he served as a technician at AESA from 2016 to 2018.
Roberto has been an active member of JARUS since 2018, contributing to the CONOPS, Automation, and SRM-SORA Working Groups. Since May 2023, he has also participated in EASA’s UAS TeB and UAS TF Airworthiness. Roberto led the UAS Training and Technology Service and headed the UAS Division from 2018 until March 2024. He has been the Head of the UAS Division since February 2024. His extensive background highlights his expertise in both manned and unmanned aviation sectors.
