Veronica Mariti Sesoko

Veronica Mariti Sesoko is an Engineer in the Drone Unit at Dublin City Council, where she works at the intersection of drone regulation, policy development, innovation, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Her work focuses on supporting the safe, sustainable, and scalable integration of drones into urban environments, while helping to shape the future of urban air mobility in Ireland and exploring how drone technologies can enhance the delivery of public services.

As part of her role, Veronica contributes to the Drone Innovation Partnership, a pioneering collaboration between Maynooth University, Dublin City Council, and the Irish Aviation Authority. The partnership supports the implementation of Dublin City Council’s Drone and Urban Air Mobility Strategy (2024–2029) through research, innovation, stakeholder engagement, demonstrator projects, and the exploration of digital platforms and governance frameworks for drone operations in cities, including future developments related to U-Space and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.

A Civil Engineer with an MSc in Transport Engineering and a Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Entrepreneurship, Veronica brings over seven years of experience delivering innovation initiatives across the public and private sectors. Her career spans Dublin City Council, Uisce Éireann, and Accenture’s global R&D hub, The Dock, where she worked on strategic innovation programmes, emerging technologies, governance frameworks, and service development. She has led and supported projects across drones, mobility, digital twins, smart cities, and organisational innovation.

Passionate about collaboration, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and youth engagement, Veronica is an active member of Engineers Ireland and serves as Vice President of Council Coordination for the European Young Engineers (EYE) network. Through her professional and voluntary roles, she is committed to supporting the next generation of engineers, fostering international collaboration, and promoting the positive impact of engineering on society.
